How to add an asset

3 min read·Beginner

Assets are the pieces of equipment your business owns, from tools and machinery to laptops and test kit. Recording them in CRMit gives you one place to see what you have, what it is worth and who is using it, so you can plan maintenance and replacement. Here is how to add one.

  1. Open the Asset List

From the CRMit menu on the left, open Assets and choose Asset List. This shows all the assets you have already recorded.

  2. Create an asset

Choose the option to add a new asset. A form opens where you can capture the details of this piece of equipment.

  3. Add its details and value

Give the asset a clear name and fill in its details:

    • Add a description so it is easy to recognise later.
    • Record its value, so you can keep an eye on what your equipment is worth.
    • Note any reference or serial number if you have one.
  4. Set who or where it is assigned

Record who holds the asset or where it is kept, so you always know where to find it and who is responsible for it.

  5. Save the asset

Click Save to add the asset to your list. It is now on record and ready to update whenever things change.

Tip: Tracking your assets makes it far easier to plan maintenance and replacement, so nothing important breaks down when you least expect it.

What's next

With your equipment on record, you can do the same for the vehicles you run and pull them together as a fleet.
